Christmas has arrived and with it the desire to decorate your home from top to bottom. The stores are full of beautiful decorations yet nothing is good enough for you ... Maybe this year what you need is a more personal touch!

This is why on the occasion of Christmas, I would like to start my first series of D.I.Y.

Every year I love to spruce up my home with Christmas decorations found in stores but I always add my personal touch with creating items. This year again, I have decided to do the same, but this time I will share it with you in the form of D.I.Y Step by step. From the inspiration found on Pinterest to my own realized ideas, you'll know all about my Christmas decoration of this year.

To start with this series, I will share 2 easy D.I.Y of paper ornaments, which I liked to reproduce from Pinterest. If you are curious to see the original, click here or follow the steps below. Enjoy!

Level: Easy

Duration: 25min

What you need: (for 1 ornament)

- 1 sheet of A4 paper (weight approximately 165 mg / m²)

- Rule

- Pencil

- The scissors

- Perforating tool

- 2 Brads or Glue

- 15 cm of string

Step 1:

Draw on your paper using your ruler about 11 strips 2 cm wide and 15 cm long. Depending on the size of your ornament you want to have, you need to tailor the length. For example, the larger ball is made of strips 20 cm long while the smaller one has stripes of12 cm long. Therefore, the medium-sized ball has 11 strips of 15 cm long.

Tip: You can also choose to make an ornament with 2 colours or with normal paper and a glittering one. If so, I would suggest 1 strip of the different paper for 2 of the regular paper. So 3 strips of glittering paper for 9 regular ones.

Step 2:

With your scissors, cut each strip following the drawn lines.

Step 3:

Place a mark on each strip where you are going to punch the hole. Be careful to not be too close the edges as this could tear the paper at the last step of this D.I.Y.

Tip: I use to cut the first hole on a strip to check the correct positioning. Once I'm sure I use the hole as a mask to draw an identical mark on the other strip as an overlay.

Step 4:

Bind the strips using a brad at the bottom. And at the top insert your string previously knotted before to fix everything with your second brads.

Step 5:

Last but not least, this is the most delicate stage of this D.I.Y.

Gently separate all the stripes from each other to form a ball. Give a better-rounded shape by pressing lightly on the top until you are satisfied.

I hope you enjoyed this D.I.Y Step by step. If you also reproduce it do not hesitate to tag me on Instagram with #celynecreativechristmas.

With this post I would like to show you that it is okay to reproduce what you see on the internet, you don't have to be shy because the idea is not yours originally ... But don't forget to mention your source when you share it!
