Since the start of my creative journey, I have been obsessed with 3 things: books, houses and dolls. And when on the internet I found a creation of house-shaped box made out of paper and hiding a photo album inside, I couldn't resist making my own and combining two of my obsessions.

Because this idea came to me at the time we were buying and starting the renovation of our house, I decided that it would be the perfect way to document this great new adventure.

Unlike the model seen on Instagram, I wanted the photo album itself to be in the shape of a house. Hence, the photos would be hidden "in" the walls. And throughout your visit to the house, you will discover the photos ...

As you can imagine the house (as all non-fairy houses) has 4 main walls and an attic. You must cross the fence to reach the entrance. But maybe first, you would like to get a glimpse through the window. If so, don't forget to say hello to the little bird that is kindly waiting on the window. I would advise you to come during winter to warm up your heart inside. And as a sign of welcome, you'll see smoke out the chimney.

Once inside, you'll face the choice to pick up the room you want to visit first. To not lose your way, you'll find the name of each room on the doors. Also, you can see that the house is furnished to the owner's taste with colourful furniture, paper walls and not to mention the adorable kitty. Behind each door (walls) you will find the photos.

The album is made on a cross pattern, where every part but the centre can unfold and provides plenty of room for photos and journaling. Behind the two larger walls there are reversed waterfall pop-ups for the «step-by-step » renovating work progress.

Finally, under the cover, which is, the roof of the house/ attic, is hidden a booklet, where old photos of the house and the makeover of the garden are kept.

Regarding the technical part, the structure was carried out with Clairefontaine DCP white paper, 300mg, and covered with several designed papers of 160mg. Furnitures are made from cardboard bought at Lidl. The doors are layers of cereal boxes that I shaped before putting on gesso and Brusho powder for a greyish colour. The "Home Sweet Home" is a cut file by Paige Taylor Evans released during the quarantine period.

The Exterior: windows, fence, doors and tiles were designed and cut with the Cricut Explore Air 2 machine, and coloured with alcohol markers. The walls are made with an embossing folder and coloured with watercolour. The garden is painted in green acrylic and decorated with fake forest moss. The final touches are the stickers placed here and there.

Needless to say, how thrilled I was creating this album. What do you think? Have you ever created such a fancy scrapbooking album?
